Mission Statement

The Hamilton and Burlington Society of Architects (HBSA) is a not for profit volunteer organization whose members are practicing architects, intern architects and individuals who work in related professions that are interested in improving the architectural culture and the practice of architecture in Hamilton and Burlington. The HBSA is a society of the Ontario Association of Architects.

The HBSA acts as a collective forum for issues directly affecting the practice of its members as well as for promoting an understanding of the practice of architecture and the importance of architectural design to the citizens of Hamilton and Region.

To meet this mission the HBSA, through sponsorship and volunteer time, work with local organizations to offer architectural walking tours, lectures and exhibitions on the architecture of Hamilton and Burlington. HSBA volunteers also organize charitable events such as the annual HBSA Golf Tournament and Design Hope.
